Maddie has been feeling a little on the outside as Shaun and Liam develop a tight bond. She and Shaun were very close and she's feeling a bit hurt and pushed out. She had some harsh words for Shaun about this, Maddie has never had a problem expressing her feelings (wrath) and Shaun started to tear up, offering to stay away from his new brother so she could get closer. Liam looked at Shaun, saw the tears and went over to him, sat on the same chair with him and tried to comfort him. Not only that, but he must have sensed what the issue was and he has been paying a LOT of attention to Maddie. He had everyone rearrange their seating at dinner so he could sit next to her, he jumped into the backseat of the van to sit with her and has basically made them both feel a lot better. Amazing!
They talked it out and Maddie realizes that she has 3 sisters, Shaun has 3 sisters, and she needs to give Shaun the space to enjoy this long awaited brother, compadre, partner in crime. Although when she said to me, "you know, i'm growing up and Shaun's gonna need someone to play with, so it's ok" it nearly broke my heart. Stop hurrying to grow up!!!! I'm gonna cry!
