They arrived in Guangzhou safely. Guangzhou is where the US Consulate is and it's the part of the trip that has the most Red (white and blue) tape. Liam is scheduled for a medical appointment early tomorrow morning. He will get a TB test and hopefully not many immunizations. The immunization issue is something that's near and dear to my heart and there is a bill in the senate waiting for a vote that would grant our adopted children a waiver from getting a ton of vaccines before leaving for home. So I hope Shanghai did a good job keeping kids up to date on their immunizations and it will not be a traumatic visit.
Liam continues to use english more and more and we are convinced that he must have had the language classes at the orphanage that we were under the impression were happening. When the plane landed in Guangzhou, (after saying OH MY GOD) about the hard touch down.. He said "Time to go". There have been times Rich has been talking to me on skype and says something that I can see Liam understands. He will swing his head around and smile.
Their flight from Shanghai was delayed, luckily they got to the airport early (which I'm sure hubby was grumbling about) but they were able to get on a flight that was originally 3 hours earlier than their original flight but was also delayed 3 hours. He ended up getting to Guangzhou an hour earlier than planned.
Liam loved his first flight! We'll see if he has the same feelings for flying after his 17 hour trek home. :-D
