Ok, so he's 8, not 1 BUT this is the first birthday he's ever had. He didnt even know when his birthday was when he joined us. Once we explained to him that birthdays are important to us and we celebrate each one with gusto, he's been pretty much counting the days until it was his turn. He woke up this morning and made us all sing to him :-). He's bringing popsicles to share with his class for his special day, a party with family tonight and then on Sunday, a big bash with his friends, family and a magician!
It was hard explaining why his party would not be today, but he's finally cool with that. It gives him something else to look forward to.
From now until Christmas, it feels like celebration central here. Maddie's birthday is this Saturday, and the other 3 kids are all within 6 days of each other in November.. By the time Christmas comes, I need a break!
