(picture blurry intentionally to keep the creepers from knowing where my kids are)
This is my calendar book. My life revolves around this book. This book never leaves my posession and if it does, the kids know to collaborate, divide and hunt it down. They know they need to bring it to me before asking for playdates, or activities. We are a finely tuned machine most of the time, with drop offs and pickups arranged ever so precisely so as not to disturb the beautiful symphony of movement and timing, to and from the places listed in the calendar book. Keep in mind that I am here with the kids without Rich for most of the week. I love to see him try to keep the momentum going on the weekends. He doesnt understand the clockwork precision of getting kids here and there and thinks he has time to fit in lawn work or some other less significant activity. Even a few minutes on the phone with clients can upset the delicate balance, that is....THE CALENDAR BOOK!
This week is tough! This week is always tough! It's the last full week of school, its the week of finals for Brit, the week of fun end of year activiities for the kids, and for 2 of my kids its the week of endless rehearsals for performances. This year, Shaun has 2 performances on Saturday, and Brit has 2 performances on Saturday. Saturday will be an excercise in precision getting to everywhere we need to be but we think we have it so carefully worked out that failure is not an option! The kids are aware of the importance of the calendar book. They know if I shout "time to get ready", the are to GET READY right then and there because if they don't, the calendar book balance is off. Mama don't like when the calendar book balance is off!!!!
