Ashley and the Bruins

Congrats to the Bruins on their long awaited Stanley Cup Victory!

I doubt there is a person alive who would contest that Ashley is the worlds MOST LOYAL BRUINS FAN! (ok, maybe she ties with her Nana) When she was 7, the one thing she wanted from Santa was Bruins tickets. Santa didnt take her seriously and on Christmas morning when she went looking for her most prized possesion, it wasnt there. Rich bought her some tickets during the season that year, and realized how much she loved the game. Remember, Ashley was delayed,Autistic and had difficulty with some communication but boy did the Bruins bring her out of her shell. The following year, Santa brought her 2 seasons tickets for the Bruins, and has every year since. Through the years, she came to know the people in the Bruins management office. They'd move the tickets around to make sure Ashley would be able to be safe when the time came for her to be more independent. Ashley ended up seated right near where the Bruins wives sat, and they took care to keep an eye on her, especially when going to the ladies room.

Blades, the mascot, never missed the opportunity to give her a hug and was the highlight of the games. Blades even made many appearances at Ashley's school for kids with special needs.

Ashley never missed a Bruins wives carnival at which, she would recieve game shirts with the signatures of the team. She went to the games early to catch the pucks thrown to her from the ice during warmups, all of which were autographed by the players after.

She won a raffle to be an honorary Bruin for a day and her name appeared on the Roster, she got to sit on the bench then watched the game from a luxury box where the players would drop in. She is a true blue fan and loves them whether they win or lose.

When I dig up the rest of her Bruins pictures, I'll post them here as well.

Here are some pictures of Ashley and just some of her prized posessions.

Thats a Bruins watch and she's wearing her Bruins earrings
