These are teeth. We saw them last July when Liam had his first visit to the dentist and had a Panoramic x-ray. They were a second set of adult top front teeth. We knew in July that he'd eventually need to have them removed, but on a recent xray, it showed they were moving very dangerously close to his sinus cavity. They were growing upward, not down.
He had surgery and had his palate cut from molar to molar straight across and they rolled his palate back away from his front teeth. It took well over an hour to complete and he was a hurting puppy afterward. He went home with a mouth full of stitches and some pretty potent pain med.
As he was coming out of anesthesia he turned to me and said "They never cut me in China" and turned his back to me.
